How your sex life can boost your energy

It is the end of an exhausting day. You and your partner lay side by side in bed, your chest is heaving and groans and sighs begin to echo throughout your bedroom. The breathing becomes more rhythmical and the noises peak to a crescendo….of snoring.
It’s an all too common scenario these days. Couples worn out from demanding days are collapsing into bed with exhaustion when they could be enjoying a rollicking good time together in bed.
“What? Sex? You’ve got to be kidding.” I can hear many of you say. “At the end of the day I don’t have the energy for Sex. I need sleep.”
Well let me get straight to the point …
If you are too tired for Sex and you are sacrificing your Sex life for a few extra minutes of sleep each night, it’s no wonder you are always tired!
You see, Sex provides a far greater energy surge than an extra bit of sleep could ever provide. In fact, for most people your sexual energy remains to be one of the greatest single sources of untapped healing energy and vitality known. It’s simple, natural and fun. Sex stimulates the release of a relaxing hormone called oxytocin, which not only helps to lower your blood pressure but also gives you a feeling of love, calmness and empathy. You are definitely more focused and productive when you are in these relaxed states.
But the benefits of a healthy Sex life don’t stop there… In his book You: The User’s Manual, Dr. Oz Mehmet even quotes a Duke University survey that concluded that more than 200 orgasms a year could reduce your physiological age by six years! It’s the ultimate anti-ageing program! Now isn’t that the best incentive to improve your Sex life?
If you think about it, Sex is a pretty powerful tool. It is the only activity we do that can create another life. So if this sexual energy isn’t being used for procreation purposes what do you do with it?
Among the elite classes of ancient China, Sex provided more than pleasure. They regarded the harnessing of this sexual energy through intercourse as a powerful healing tool. Yet, unlike the West, orgasm is often not the goal. To them, Sex’s healing power comes from the combination of the yin (feminine) and the yang (masculine) energies that occurs during intercourse.
If your Sex life isn’t exactly setting the world on fire you may want to consider some exercises to improve the pleasure and control during intercourse. These exercises boost your sexual fitness. But you may ask, “What can you do if you don’t have a partner or your partner is unwilling?”
In China, verbally or physically coercing a partner who is ‘not in the mood’ is pointless. In terms of boosting your energy it is important that you are both willing and eager participants. If you or your partner is ‘not in the mood’ you do not produce the “chi” or body energy for healthy Sex and instead you will drain the energy from your more amorous partner.
Whether you are single or your partner doesn’t feel like Sex you can still boost your sexual fitness by exercising your genitals. The most important muscles to exercise are your pubococcygeal or PC muscles. The greater strength and control you have of your PC muscles will give any male more control with his erection and females will feel more sensation due to a tighter vagina.
To exercise your PC muscles you just squeeze the muscle you use to hold back urine. Hold it for 2 seconds and then release. Do this twenty times, three times a day.
It is important to understand that when you are using Sex as a healing aid or when you are feeling run-down, it is suggested that orgasm be withheld. That’s right. I’m not joking. The Chinese believe that Sex increases the level of “chi” and helps it to flow more efficiently but orgasm causes a loss of health-boosting “chi” from the body. It is recommended that when you are feeling tired you should place greater focus on enjoying the actual act of Sex and the physical and emotional connection that comes with it.
Despite Western preoccupation with the orgasm being the indicator of sexual prowess it is interesting to note that real sexual expertise lies in your ability to really connect with your partner both physically and emotionally.
